A 1967
May 13, 2020
As I look at this picture of Amy, I am taken back to 1967 when Amy and I were both freshman at Colby College. The 60's were a very turbulent time for a college student. I entered college as an insecure and confused teenager while Amy was this sensitive, creative and MOST giving person. Amy's inviting smile, her giggle and her midwestern accent were hallmarks of hers that I remember well. She provided me with the support and love to help get me through an emotionally tough, freshman year. Although Amy and I lost touch shortly after leaving Colby, despite 53 years of separation, I remain forever thankful for her friendship at a time when I needed it the most. I am so, so saddened to learn of Amy's death and ask her family to accept my deepest feelings of sympathy.

Amy and I shared the Kansas City,Missouri roots, I also knew her as a student at Colby College. I had been in touch with her a few years back with plans to visit her in England. She was a very special person and I was devastated to learn of her passing.

I would like to know of plans for the celebration of Amy's life in England. Sending love to all who loved her.

Amy gave a great interpretative tour at this National Trust museum.

I am devastated to read this news in Colby Alumni magazine. She was my pal when we were little, via both of my grandmothers. We connected again when I followed her to Colby. Amy was one of the most generous, original, and interesting people I knew. So glad I got to visit her at her beloved English home and that she found joy there. Rest in peace, dear friend.

We loved having Amy as part of our community here in Upperton, West Sussex. She helped with our Tillington charity ferrying people to medical appointments; was joint co-ordinator with me of our Neighbourhood Watch Scheme, and helped look after the Ancient Trees in Petworth Park. She was a generous contributor to local causes. We will miss her.Gerald
