B.B. Andersen, a Kansas City con- tractor and real estate developer, passed away October 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, MO after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born January 18, 1936 in Geddes, S. Dakota to Wil- ber and Devota Andersen. Bigger than life with a heart to match, B.B. had an unmatched zest for life. A world traveler and avid sportsman, B.B. was a lover of fine cigars, fine wine, close friends, and good political debate. His political impact and involvement was on the national level. Skiing, sailing, golf and flying were just a few of his pas- sions. Known by many as a conser- vative champion, B.B. loved and served his country in various capaci- ties for more than three decades. B.B. was often described as "one of kind". A man with strong convic- tions and a "can do" attitude. A be- liever in truth above all. He loved spending time with his many pals and his favorite service companion, Gracie. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jan, and their daughter, Al- exandra, and four sons and their wives , Mark (Susan), John (Darci), Todd (Jane) and Darren (Julie) and eight grandchildren. Brothers Ron (Mary), Layne (Karen), and sisters Valerie Andersen and Sharda (Andy)Sydzyik. even though he lasted 6 days in Borneo. he is part of a reality TV phenomenon that is still going on 20 years later. as season 40 approaches all us survivor fans honor BB and all he did. he is still sorely missed. he would be proud today that he is still remembered as one of the first of hundreds of survivor contestants to be eliminated.

We enjoyed riding around Havana this past February with BB. He was not one to ride in a tour bus, so he hired a guide and '58 convertible and invited us to ride along. We enjoyed his company tremendously and even went along when he insisted on attending evening mass at the cathedral. I have a few photos if you want them. Let me know. RIP, dear BB.

B.B. you are a most beloved friend for eternity! We all now have one big, smiling, witty, FUNNY, intense and "get it done" advocate who will influence in a whole new way from eternity! We miss you so very much, B.B. We are so very thankful to God for blessing our lives with knowing and loving you so. SO many memories of JOY and friendship with you in the Colorado mountains. Pray for us and we will continue to do the same for you! Prayers for Jan, Alex and all of the Andersen family continue. With great sympathy...in gratitude and love for a very dear and beloved friend, the Teran family

Andy was a mentor for me. Worked for his company in the '70s and '80s with wonderful memories and excitement. He gave me a chance to learn and grow. Will always remember those days and his compassion for life and adventure, family, and friends. A very special man is now a guardian angel to many!
