I cannot express the sadness and the loss that I feel. Barbara was an exceptional friend and an excellent educator. Three of my children were blessed to have her as their teacher. My youngest daughter thinks of her as a second mother as she was that dedicated to helping her achive her goals. She will be in my heart forever

Hello Deborah Spears and the Family of Barbara Doran,
I am so sorry for your lose. I Georgia N. R. Thomas (Aunt Nell) it was a pleasure to meet Barbara and converse. My best memories of her is the many kind remarks her neice (Majah Spears and nephew, Daaron Spears would say after visiting with her in Houston. Please know that I share your sorrow. May the Lord continue to comfort you is my prayer.

Barbara Doran has been an inspiration and a guiding light my entire life. Her passion and dedication to her craft was second only to her love for family. Watching her and my Grandfather together as I grew up was like watching those perfect married couples you see in movies, only what they had together was even better. I have never known anyone to give as much of themselves to those around them the way she always did. I will miss her greatly.

Barbara has been there for us for many years. we first met her when my daughter sunnie dalal moved to live with us in Huston. she was her teacher at the hebrew academy and continued with my other childrens. Sahar, Ream Adir and Or Mulla at the sepharadic gan in houston texas.she was tough lady but we will ever be in her debt.an amezing woman that didnt let go.

On time when I was in high school I told Mrs. Doran that one day she would teach my children. "Oh I'll be long retired before than," she replied. I couldn't help smiling when I walked my son into her classroom on the first day of his first grade year. Thanks Mrs. Doran!

The Jewish Tradition relates that one who teaches can be likened to the student's parent. Mrs. Doran was a mother to hundreds, no- thousands, of students over the years. Her legacy lives on in each student she inspired and taught. My memories of not only her class, but her unwavering loyalty to our school and community will stay with me forever. My deepest condolences to the family- may her memory be a blessing to those she left behind.

I had the honor of working with Barbara for five years at Beren Academy. She was an inspiration to all the staff members, parents and students with whom she came in contact. My condolences to Mike, Phil, Debbie, Bob, Jack and the whole family. Barbara changed the world through the children. How many people can say that? What a strong, beautiful woman.
