Betty Jo McFarland

Betty Jo McFarland, 74, of Leawood, KS, passed away Friday, August 1, 2003, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 4, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Betty was born October 26, 1928, in Holden, MO, to Albert and Mildred Ward. She married E.E. McFarland on June 9, 1946. She worked in Accounting for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 31 years, retiring in 1994. She was a Doe in the Elks Lodge and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband and one granddaughter. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Karen McFarland, Shawnee, KS; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jack Wagner, Adrian, MO, and Carolyn and John Fratzel, Shawnee, KS; six granddaughters and eight greatgrandchildren.
