BEVERLY POYNTER Obituary

Beverly Ann Poynter, 77, was called to the Lord on December 18, 2010. There are so many words to describe her. She had a strong faith in our Lord; she was beautiful, honest, classy, smart, funny, generous, and had a sense of fairness that is rivaled by no one else we have met on Earth. She married the love of her life, C. F. Poynter, on Jan. 12, 1951. They were happily married until he was called to Heaven on April 17, 1991. She worked many years as a beautician in a shop C. F. built for her in their home. In later years, she served on the Kearney Missouri Park Board and was presented a Key to the City in May of 2009, when she left the board due to health problems. We are all very proud her. Beverly leaves behind a sister, Carolyn Huffman; three children: daughter, Daine and Chip Winger, of Hamilton, MO; son, Charles and LeeAnn Poynter, of Kansas City; son, Rick Poynter, of Hamilton; and many other family members and wonderful friends. She was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, but we take comfort knowing that Mom is with the Lord and her beloved C. F. forever. Graveside services will be held at Kearney City Cemetery on December 20, 2010, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we feel she would prefer donations to the Kearney Park Board so she may continue to beautify the city she loved. If interested, please send to Kearney City Hall, Attn: Eric Marshall, 100 E. Washington, Kearney, MO 64060. Arr.: Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, MO, (816) 628-4411.
