Overland Park, Kansas - Bonita "Bonnie" Buckley of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 with her loving husband, Conk Buckley, by her side. She was 87 years old.
Bonnie was born on August 3, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to parents Loraine Rentschler and Alois J. Maier. She attended Westport High School where she made many lifelong friends. Some of her favorite childhood memories include exploring her Westport/Plaza neighborhood with her big sister Ginny Gardner.
Bonnie was a proud homemaker and mother to three children. Even though she modeled professionally as a young woman, she never wanted to be the center of attention. She lived her life supporting those around her with encouragement and love. She enjoyed reading, walking for exercise and playing Bridge with her friends, Iowa Hawkeye sports, and beach vacations with her family.
She is survived by her husband Conk Buckley, Jr., her sister Ginny Gardner, her children, Jeff McCalmon (Kim), Robin Chamberlain (Ron) and Roger McCalmon (Jill), step-children, Conk Buckley III (Lisa) and Shannon Buckley, grandchildren, Aubrey Langford (Scott), Tyler McCalmon (Sarah), Reed McCalmon (Margy), Spencer Chamberlain (Lindsey), Jordan Chamberlain, Ian McCalmon, Graham McCalmon, Quinn McCalmon and Reece McCalmon, great grandchildren, Claire, Ella, Caleb, Harper, Eloise, Violet, Liam, Jack, Ryder and Ivy. She is preceded in death by her children's father C. Frank McCalmon and by her grandson Logan McCalmon
