BRENDA JONES COHEN

Brenda Jones Cohen of Leawood, Kan., passed away Friday, July 2, 2010, at St. Luke's South Hospital after a brief and intense struggle with cancer. Born on Nov. 10, 1940, she was the daughter of John W. Jones and Ruth Jones Barker of West Frankfort, Ill. Mrs. Cohen was co-owner of Paco Designs in Lenexa, Kan., with her husband of 26 years, Paul N. Cohen. Brenda had a keen eye for fashion and fine art and a terrific sense of humor. She was a very independent and forward thinker, business leader, trail blazer for women, and possessed a strong sense of self. Brenda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, employer and amazing friend to many. Brenda studied at William Woods College in Fulton, Mo. Survivors include her husband, Paul and children, Christopher D. Hagan, Jeffrey L. Hagan, John and Janette Hagan, Elinor and Jason Lowe and her step-children, Bob, David and Cecily. Her grandchildren, Owen, Finn and Harper, who affectionately called her BB will miss her. The family is grateful and appreciative of the physicians and staff at St. Luke's South for their thoughtful kindness and care. A remembrance gathering will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 16, at Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa.
