Carol Grosvenor Obituary

Carol Lyn Holman Grosvenor

July 30, 1955 - September 17, 2025

Raleigh, North Carolina - Carol Lyn Holman Grosvenor, age 70, of Raleigh, NC, and formerly of Pasadena, CA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Carol was born in California to the late John William Holman and Ruth Hall Holman. A talented artist from a young age, she pursued her passion by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Art Center College of Design. Her creativity and artistic vision led her to a career in animation, beginning as a Production Designer with Hanna-Barbera Studios. It was there, while working on The Smurfs, that she met the love of her life, Charles.

After several years, Carol transitioned to Walt Disney Studios and later to Disney Imagineering, where she continued to bring her imaginative spirit and artistic talents to life. Whether designing for animation or conceptualizing immersive environments, Carol's work touched the lives of countless people around the world.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She had a deep love for art, painting, and drawing, and was always eager to share her gifts with others ,both young and old.

Carol was also passionate about cooking and gardening, often creating beautiful meals and spaces that reflected her nurturing soul. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and making her home a warm and welcoming place.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Charles Myron Grosvenor, Jr.; her cherished son, Christopher Michael Grosvenor of Denver, CO; and her beloved dachshund, Dash. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donn Holman and her many precious dachshunds.

Carol had a special place in her heart for dachshunds and in her memory, donations may be made to Doxie By Proxy Rescue, P.O. Box 9671, Greensboro, NC 27429 or online at doxiebyproxy.org.

Dear Charles and Christopher
We are friends of Carol's from online. We met through the Christine McConnel patreon and discord app. We formed a group of 4, Carol, myself, Renelle, and Anna. We have been meeting for quite some time online and have become good friends. We were all shocked and very saddened to learn Carol had passed.
She talked about both of you so often it feels like we know you both just a little. She loved you both and Dash very much.
We sent some flowers today, September 28th, and they should have arrived between 6-6:30pm with the name Anna Politi.
We are so sorry for you loss. We are just so stunned to loose Carol that we have struggled to find the right words. We will miss seeing Carol each week online, our chats, our laughs, and sharing our lives together.
Carol was such a kind woman and we all will miss her very much.
While we could not attend the funeral we would all like you to know how sorry we are and that Carol meant so much to all 3 of us.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like to speak to any of us.
All our love
Andrea (Meowmmy), Anna (pumpkinsqueek), Ranelle (Lady B)
