Rev. Canon Wayne Forrest Burgett Jr.

The Rev. Canon Forrest Burgett, 73, Overland Park, passed away May 3, 2017. Fr. Forrest was born in Garden City, KS, to Vera Lou (Bishop) and Forest Burgett Sr. Fr. Forrest worked for United Computing, KCP&L and in 1997, after several years of study, Fr. Forrest became an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in America. He has been the Rector of Trinity Anglican Church in Prairie Village KS, since 1997. He leaves his wife, Janie; daughters, Laura (Mark) Stewart, Julie (Chris) Pieri; son, David (Susan) Burgett; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Burgett, Rod (Cindy) Burgett and sister, the late Jeanie Truelove. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. The Requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, at Trinity Anglican Church, 3920 W. 63rd St., Prairie Village, KS.
