Her leadership extended beyond sports, serving as Student Body President and being crowned Homecoming Queen in her senior year.

Carly continued her educational journey at Pittsburg State University (PSU), earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2014. Carly specialized in mental health disorders and completed her Psychiatry residency at KU in June 2022. She further specialized and completed her Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at KU in June 2023. She was American Board Certified in Psychiatry and served as an Addiction Psychiatrist at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Carly was not only a dedicated professional but also a devoted athlete and community member. A member of The Runner's Edge "the Niners", she was an accomplished runner, earning awards in numerous events, including the Steelhead 70.3 Half Ironman, Houston Marathon, and Alaskan Half Marathon.

I feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with Carly at our gym several years ago. She frequently attended Pilates Reformer sessions with me and was immediately loved by those that worked out with her. She was truly a bright light and had a caring, thoughtful spirit. The lives she touched will never forget this amazing human. I will never forget her and know that she will continue to live through those she loved and impacted.
