Carol Jean Durbin

Carol Jean Durbin, 55, of Olathe, KS, passed away Friday, April 4, 2003, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gardner, KS. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, with Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation "Race for Cure," in care of Bruce Funeral Home, PO Box 192, Gardner, KS 66030. Mrs. Durbin was born July 3, 1947 in Fort Scott, KS. She graduated from Fulton High School in 1964. On August 21, 1965 she married Robert "Bob" J. Durbin in Fulton, KS. After they married he was in the service, stationed in Grandview, MO. They then moved back to Fulton and then to the Kansas City area in 1968. She had lived in Olathe for 20 years. Mrs. Durbin had worked in the Accounts Receivable Dept. at Trans Am Trucking Co., Olathe, KS for 10 years. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Olathe, KS. She was a loving wife and mother and was devoted to her grandchildren. Mrs. Durbin was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Oren and Nellie Frances McReynolds. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Durbin of the home; daughters, Lisa Ann Burton and husband, Robin and Michelle Lynn Campbell and husband, Ken, all of Gardner, KS; five grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Swickard, Stillwell, KS, Dean McReynolds, Garnett, KS, Calvin Swickard, Arcadia, KS and Terry McReynolds, Overland Park, KS; sisters, Mary Eastwood and Arlene Adams, both of Fulton, KS and Leona Walrod, Nevada, MO.
