I shared a jar of massage cream the other day with a friend that Carol used in her massage business - Blue-Emu with emu oil for muscle aches. It was nice to tell my friend about my memories of her as my massage therapist, Spiritual Director, and friend.

My dear spiritual director, Carol, I know you are still so close to all of us who love you. I still return frequently to an email you sent me back in 2015 about knowing and experiencing God in every small thing. I am grateful for the time we had together and know we shall meet again. Remembering your sometimes quirky sense of humor still makes me smile! --- Joyce from Sacramento, CA

Four years after her passing from the earth, I still often think of Carol. Now, as the feast of Mary Magdalene approaches on July 22, I remember her attendance at the annual Mary Magdalene celebrations hosted by our local Call to Action group, and her eloquent defense of the earth and all who are in it when she was the featured speaker at one of the events. She inspired me by her example, her high ideals, and the love she had for everyone, especially her children and grandchildren. I hope they know what a bright legacy she considered them to be.

I am so sorry I was not at her funeral, I did not know she had died till Peggy Neal told me on Wed. I was involved with Women Source and that got me to explore Womens' Spirtuality. It was a change in my life.

My heartfelt condolences to Carol's family. Carol was my neighbor and friend with whom I shared love of gardening and the magic of opera, and much more. From time to time, she took care of my companion dog, Gus, with love and joy. Gone too soon and too fast, Carol, your passing leaves a hole in my heart. Rest in peace.

I always admired Carol because she seem grounded in the fact, that the best way to live life, was to leave the world a little bit better each day. Even if it was something as small as giving a hesitant pet owner the confidence to leave his trusted companion in her care. I could tell Billy always had such a good time when he was with her........in fact I recall a couple of times when I returned to pick him up, he hesitated and looked back, as if he was not sure he wanted to leave. Thank you Carol for all the little blessings you brought into my life and the lives of all that you touched. My condolences to her family and friends.

The Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers extend our deepest sympathies to Carol's family members and our profound gratitude to the Creator for the life of our dear partner in the care of Creation. Carol served as a dedicated volunteer on the program committee and as our first Director. Motivated by her faith, she was bold and creative in championing environmental sustainability and in serving humanity in manifold ways every day of her life. Carol has taught by her example how to live and lead with authenticity and humility, as well as how to infuse concern for serious issues with grace toward others and a zest for life. Carol's spirit lives on in the advocacy and actions of everyone who was influenced by her. May God comfort her loved ones with the peace that surpasses our understanding and bless Carol with ever-renewing life forevermore.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Rev. Helen Nelson, Board of Directors, Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition, and Pastor, Oak Grove Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

My condolences to the family. While I didn't know her personally, we did say hello on occasion when my daughter and her granddaughter were in the same pre-school class one year. May she rest in peace.

I met Carol when she offered instruction in meditation through a Communiversity class held in her home. Our friendship developed over the years as I benefited from her abilities as a Swedish massage practitioner. Carol was the epitome of dedication to several admirable causes and devoted her energies to everything positive in life. She has left us with guidance in how to be better, how to do better, how to help each other and our planet improve. Thank you, Carol.

Carol certainly left the world a better place than she found it. For years I have cherished her friendship, followed her example in caring for the earth, and benefited from both her spiritual counsel and her wonderful massages. I send my love and sympathy to her children and grandchildren. I know you will miss her. So will I.
