CAROL WHITTLE Obituary

Carol Lynn Whittle, 63, Buckner, MO, passed away Tuesday May 29, 2012 at her home. Carol was born Aug. 8, 1948 in Raytown, MO to Lester and Mildred Craddock. She graduated from Raytown High School. On March 6 1965, she married Terry Gene Whittle of Independence, MO. They were married on his 18th birthday at Calvary Baptist Church, Independence, MO, where they were members for many years. Carol was currently a member of East Side Baptist Church of Independence, MO. She was a member of the church choir and helped the worship pastor by organizing the music for the weekly practices. She attended the Life Together Bible Class and was a mentor for the church's Mothers of Pre-schoolers (M.O.P.S.) program. She belonged to the Missouri Extensions Club where she was a member of the local Progressive 68er's club for 40 years. Carol worked for Sears at the Independence Center over 25 years, mainly in the paint department. After retirement, she enjoyed meeting with her other workers for a monthly breakfast. Married for 47 years, Carol is survived by her loving husband Terry of the home. She is also survived by her 2 sons; Terry Jr. and wife Julie, Brant and wife Shelly, and her 7 grandchildren: Chance, Drake, Kelsey, Kendra, Dylan, Abby and Jacob. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday June 1, 2012 at East Side Baptist Church, 19901 E. State Route 78 Independence, MO 64057. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Brookings Cemetery in Raytown, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Baptist Church or Crossroads Hospice. The instant we met Carol we knew she was special. She was such a loving and caring person. Carol always brought sunshine into people's lives. We will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry and his family.
