Dear Minnick family,

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I only just came to know Chuck at Garden Terrace over the last six months, where I visit with my therapy dog, Ginger. I met some of you a few times, so you may remember us. I just heard about his death when I was there on Sunday afternoon and asked to see him. I appreciate what your family is going through, as my father was a resident at Garden Terrace four years ago. I was so very fortunate to have had a few moments in time with Chuck. I remember the last time I saw him. I was just getting ready to leave, and I made a joke. He shared one heck of his terrific smiles. I will be forever grateful for that. His illness could not take away his graciousness and especially his good humor. My deepest condolences.

Dear Minnick Family,

I went to Kindergarden with Brooke and Blaine at Mohawk many years ago and remember coming over your house to play after school.
I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Words cannot express the pain and difficulty with the loss of a parent.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in his many accomplishments and happy memories.

I didn't know Chuck, but have shared in some of the recent struggles in talks with Brooke. My mother is an Alzheimer's patient also so I know how very difficult it can be to watch a loved one go through this. God has restored Chuck, now to the person you all knew and loved. I pray that you can find comfort in that. God bless you all.

Dearest Minnick family -
We did not know your dear Charles but were well acquainted with his Dad, Dr. C. V. and Mary Jean, as when our children were very little and we visited our parents (Col. Andrew E. and Vera Forsyth) in Junction City, Dr. C.V. Minnick was often called upon to tend to our four children, if they became ill. After we moved to Junction City in 1975, we often saw Charles' parents, as we also lived in the next block of West Chestnut Street, and Mary Jean attended Mass at St. Xavier's, as did we. She was a sweet lady and often spoke lovingly of her stepchildren, Charles among them. We are saddened to read of his long illness and passing, and our prayers fly to Heaven where Charles is now at peace in the loving care of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With sympathy and blessings, Don and Ann Forsyth, 8025 Farmington Blvd., Germantown, TN 38138 - former residents of Junction City, Kansas

So sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. We were at KU and Washburn Business School together, played football and hung around a lot. Had several nice visits to his home in JC and crossed paths with him a few times over the years. Tough as nails on the field but a calm fellow off. Know you will miss him.

This is the end of a long, hard road for all of you and for Chuck. But in between there were lots of good years and good memories.
