Charles Moriarty Obituary

Charles Lewis Moriarty 1963 2020 Charles Lewis Moriarty, Charlie, 57, of Jacksonville Florida, died on May 5, 2020. Charlie was born in Seneca, KS on April 2, 1963, son of Camille Ann Lewis Moriarty Fowler and James Owen (Mo, Coach Mo) Moriarty (Sherry). Charlie is survived by his parents, his brother, Woody Moriarty of Kansas City, MO (Sara), sister, Mary Ann Thomason of Jacksonville FL. Charlie was a loving son, brother and a wonderful uncle to Megan, Alison, Matthew and Nicole. Charlie grew up in Roeland Park, KS. He attended Bishop Miege High School and received his bachelor's degree from Emporia State University in Emporia KS. Charlie loved to play basketball, football, baseball and golf, and he shared his athletic knowledge with his beloved nieces and nephew. After a management career at Sunshine Biscuit, Charlie's love for the outdoors called him to work outside on golf courses which made him very happy. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice. Services to be announced at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.MuehlebachChapel.com.

Camille I am very sorry to hear. Charlie had a big heart. So few caring people in the world like him. There are no words for the grief and the pain. He was very lucky in life to have such a beautiful family. You were his greatest blessing and he looked up to you in life. I thank God he had you. You were the greatest light in his life.

Charlie and I were good friends thru grade school and high school. We had a lot of great times together and many memories I will never forget. Charlie was a great friend and fun to be around and a very talented athlete. He excelled at anything he wanted to be good at. I will miss him very much and will remember all the good times. We drifted apart living in different parts of the country for a number of years but then luckily reconnected a couple of years ago and communicated on almost a weekly basis for the last 2yrs. I know he is now in a better place with peace and joy and in no more pain. My condolences to Camille, Woody, and Mary Ann and his nieces and nephews who are in pain. My thoughts and prayers will always be with my longtime friend.

I never had the pleasure to meet Charlie in person, but I sure heard a lot about him, Woody and Mary Ann from their father, Mo. Mo did not brag or exaggerate on their lives and accomplishments, but just told the happenings in their lives with that beaming MO smile on his face. May Charlie be with the Lord. I will mention his name in my prayers.

Coach Mo and family, I am heartbroken for you all and am praying for God's peace and love to comfort you and hold you tightly. Coach Mo, you were such a character and I always either looked forward to your class or was a bit afraid LOL You made SW High School a better place and were loved and respected so I can only imagine that your beloved son had a lot of your best qualities in him! :-) So sorry for your loss. Very sad to hear the loss of Charlie. Charlie and I grew up together at St. Agnes, Bishop Miege and we had fun getting into trouble while working at KCCC together. Remember him being a great pitcher and having this fury rabbit feet (believe it was fake) that he kept in his pocket while pitching. Rest in peace. My condolences to the family.

Growing up with Charlie in my life made everything so much more fun. His sense of humor with the Moriarty kids was always so loving and fun. Growing up, whenever my parents werent home he would always load us up on sweets, he had the biggest sweet tooth! He always made us kids feel so special. I have amazing memories with him that I will never forget. My favorite memory with him was when he helped me improve my basketball skills so I could become a beast on the court. OLIVE JUICE!
