Christopher John (Elmore) Blough, 43, Bridgeport, Conn., passed away March 7, 2017, in Bridgeport. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, Kan. A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will be 3 p.m. Monday at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, Mo. Chris was born in Bethany, Mo., to Barbara Jann Hageman and John Elmore on April, 1, 1973. He went to high school at Olathe, Kan., and graduated in 1991. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Mid-American Nazarene University and finally a Master's of Science Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Iowa. He had worked as a teaching assistant at KU, a research assistant at UMKC and as an adjunct professor teaching biology, anatomy, and physiology for Fairfield University, in Fairfield, Conn. Chris is survived by husband, Bryan Blough; mother and step father, Barbara Jann and Daniel Hageman of Lexexa; father and step-mother, John and (Molly) Elmore of San Diego, Calif.; and maternal grandmother, Eva Elmore Lawrence of Seattle, Wash. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Brenda Jo Finney; maternal grandparents, Roscoe and Anna Mae Finney; and paternal grandfather, Marvin Elmore.
