Cold watermelon, fixing bicycles, turning on the fire hydrant on a hot summer day...many of us kids that grew up on Hallock have these same fond memories of Mr. Worten. He was loved by many. My deepest sympathy to the family may your memories comfort you. God Bless you all!

To the family and friends of:
CLAUDE B. WORTEN SR....
My deepest expression of sympathy and condolences are extended to you.

Mr. Worten helped raise a Block of us kids. HALLOCK ST. He was there as a father, grandfather, and great example of a Black Male Role Model. He watched over us for many years even after some of us moved away from that area. We keep with us some of those heart felt times. We all will miss him, but as always.... we know he is still watching over us from Haven above.
That's Mr. Worten, being Mr. Worten.

To the Batts family,

My condolences go out to you and the Worten family. It's been a while since I've seen(grandpa)that's what I'd call him. I'm sure he was called that by many others as well. My last visit to his home was great. He was still grandpa (you know what I mean). He kept you on your toes that's for sure. Those Sunday dinners he cooked were great and the memories I have of him will never be forgotten. May God grant you much peace during this time.
