When I was a supervisor at the rez center in KC David was on my team. We had more fun together, sharing stories and jokes. He could always be counted on and was a hard worker to boot. You'll be missed David. Put in a few good words for me in Heaven...your friend Nick.

David, wherever you are now, I feel your presence. I will always love and cherish the kindness and support you showed to me and my family. A truer friend never existed. Thank you for the words of wisdom, the hours of laughter and the kindness your heart shared with everyone you came in contact with. This world is slightly off kilter with your departure. I know you are at peace with your beloved mother. We are all counting on you to continue to guide us with difficult decision that we must face without you. Keep your spirit close to us all. We will never forget you and all the wonderful qualities that made you so dear and special. We will always make sure Gary is included in family events and keep our love surrounding him as he tries to go forward with his life. I know he will find happiness again and will do so with your love and blessing. I can still hear your voice whenever he does something that I know would cause you to react. I hear that "Gary!" in my head and know you are close. Rest peacefully my dear friend, I will always carry you in my heart.

We lived across the street from David when we lived in Las Vegas, he was a teenager then. He always had a smile and greeting for us. He spent time in our house playing with our baby daughter. He loved to practise his hairdressing on us, and one Xmas did all our hairstyles and we looked gorgeous. He was a gentle person, and we liked him very much.

Dear DeWees Family,

I know your family from many years ago. I actually had "little" David as a student in first grade at Christ the King School.I have a vivid memory of cute David and beautiful Sara with their Dad. I will always remember the kindness your father showed to me and to my family. He would go out of his way to help all he met. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I worked with David in the Kansas City Rez before it closed. I went to his house on many occasions with my family to get a hair-cut and just talk to him. He was always kind and caring to people. We will miss him so much. My heart goes out to his family and Gary. I cannot be at the services May 14th but he will be in my thoughts.

Dear David, Sara and Deb:

The world is a lesser place with David's passing. He was so much fun, always so concerned about family, how everyone was doing. I am going to miss him terribly. But as in all of life's gifts, we must be grateful that God shared him with us at all. May his soul rest in peace.

Love,

Dianne and Dan Hogerty

I have not only lost a cousin but a good friend in David. He was always there when needed and I will cherish the memories of his laughter, joking, talking and playing cards -- but most of all his just being David. David's spirit will live on in all who were lucky enough to call him family or friend. He will be sorely missed.

Dear De Wees family,

My family knew David's mom, Barbara, through her work with my mother Delores at the Bank.

We are saddened to hear of David's death. We are thinking of the De Wees family.
