DAVID ALAN EDMONDS David Alan Edmonds entered the world on April 15, 1977 in Jackson, MI. His family settled in Leawood, KS. David was an active little boy and had lots of close friends including his two younger brothers, Andrew and Scott. Their close friendship continued into adulthood. David graduated from Blue Valley HS in 1995, lettering in track, basketball and football. As a freshman David earned a varsity letter and set two school records in track. David attended the University of Kansas studying philosophy and logic. He loved long discussions on these two subjects and carried this interest to his next career. In 2005, David joined the Marine Corps. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times. Many fellow Marines considered David a Brother and showed their loyalty to him by volunteering to be his pallbearers and to stand guard overnight, six were chosen for this duty. Marines came from near and far to pay tribute to David. During David's funeral his family had a chance to hear of the connection David had with his fellow Marines. To know that David had touched so many lives in such positive ways was comforting to his family. Kym Smith came into David's life on New Year's Eve 2009 and they married Oct. 1, 2010. When David was not deployed for the war on terror, he was stationed at 29 Palms and Camp Pendleton, so Kym and David spent their entire married life in California. They loved the beach, hiking, CrossFit and family celebrations. On the morning of March 12, 2018, David passed away. David's Visitation and Rosary were on March 21, 2018 and his funeral the following day. David's committal was held Thursday, March 22, at Riverside National Cemetery. He was interred at his final resting place on March 23, 2018. David Alan Edmonds is survived by loving wife Kymberly, step-daughters Davan Weaver both of Yucaipa, CA, Rian (Jordan) Ory of Fort Benning, GA, David's parents Alan and Christy Edmonds of Overland Park, KS brother Andrew (Kara) Edmonds of Wilmington, DE, nephew William Edmonds, brother Scott (Tereza) Edmonds of Munich, Germany, niece Ruzena Edmonds and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also Kym's mother, stepfather, sisters and brother and their families were very close to David. David's family is requesting prayers for David and all the service men and women who have and are serving their country. May God hold David in the Palm of His Hand.
