Dave was a dear friend of my cousin Pat Huyett. In 2011 he drove to Lawrence to see her only weeks before we lost her to cancer. It was then Dave and I became friends. He was the most wonderful and kindred spirit. I had hoped to meet him in person when I next visited KC where I am from. I will miss his wonderful sense of humor and deep sense of compassion. A beautiful soul. A terrible loss.
