David Lane Obituary

Born September 13, 1929 in Hamilton, MO, to Nick and Juanita (Holbrook) Lane and passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2002. He lived for several years in Excelsior Springs before becoming a long time resident of Liberty. He and his wife, Aileen (Barlow) raised a family of four sons and one daughter there. "Davy" as he was known to his family and friends, worked in plumbing, air conditioning and general maintenance. He was very skilled in mechanics and on call for many folks for needed repairs. He wants to be remembered as a man with "magic fingers." He once kept a car running across country by using a rubber shower sandal as a motor support. He loved reading, gardening and was an avid sports fan. Also, having known many people in two small towns, he enjoyed reminiscing on life and depression era experiences in Caldwell County with his older brother, Jack. The past year, especially has been spent in reflections and memories shared with family. His health has been in decline for three years due to a failing heart condition. Davy was a very proud and generous person. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, David and Terri of Kansas City, Jim and Joan of Kansas City, KS, Dennis and Margaret of Kearney, MO, Mike and Becky of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Janeen Lane of Merriam, KS; and beloved first wife, Aileen; plus 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Jack Lane of Kingston, MO and sister, Jo Ann Warila of Escondido, CA, plus nieces, Connie and Denise and nephews Richard and Mark. Friends may call from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 23, at Church-ArcherPasley Funeral Home, Liberty, MO. Private burial at Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, MO. (Arrangements: ChurchArcher-Pasley Funeral Home (816) 7812000)
