David Moore Obituary

David Clayton Moore was born on September 7, 1958, in Redwood City, CA. He grew up in Atherton, CA. After attending the University of California San Diego, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Literature, he went on to achieve a Master of Divinity in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. During his time in California, he volunteered with the youth group. At a youth retreat in Idyllwild, CA he met his wife of 39 years, Ronda. His passionate faith for Jesus Christ led him to a 4 decade career as a pastor. He began his life of ministry in South Dakota, where he pastored at Olive Presbyterian Church and Academy UCC. During this time, he and Ronda began a family. In the early 90s David moved to Missouri, where he spent most of his adult life. He led New Summit Presbyterian Church and supported the Lee's Summit Police Department as a chaplain. He went on to serve First Presbyterian Church of Edmond in Edmond, OK, Bonhomme Presbyterian Church in Chesterfield, MO, Umetulisha in St. Louis, MO, and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Los Alamitos, CA. He mentored and coached numerous churches across the United States. He was an avid reader with a curious spirit, a lover of baseball (Go Giants!), a weightlifter, a cyclist and a SCUBA dive master. On Thursday, October 30, David passed abruptly from a fall in Quincy, IL. Above all, David was a follower of Jesus Christ, and he embodied Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." He carries his faith with him into a land of promise and hope.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ronda Moore, his parents Daniel and Eleanor Moore, his siblings Daniel Moore Jr. and Eleanor Kuykendall. He leaves behind his children Emily Moore and Christopher Moore (Megan Moore), grandchildren Nora Moore and Charlie Moore, and sisters Patty Silversher and Carol Moore.

Sorry to hear about David´s death. As a high schooler we had many conversations as his pastor. He had a strong faith in Jesus.
