David Trowbridge Obituary
October 2, 1940 - December 14, 2021
Kansas City, Missouri - David Cole Trowbridge, 81, of Weatherby Lake, MO passed away peacefully at NorthCare Hospice House on December 14, 2021. He was born October 2, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Barnard Cole and Dorothy D. (Peterson) Trowbridge.
David graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in Kansas in 1958. He received a Bachelor's of Arts degree from University of Kansas in 1962 with Honors in History "With Highest Distinction". He then earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1965. David began his law career at Blackwell, Sanders, Matheny, Weary & Lombardi, in Kansas City, Missouri in 1965. He continued his education and earned a Master of Laws degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1967. He became a partner in the firm in 1971.
In 1975, he accepted a position as Associate General Counsel and General Solicitor for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City where he worked for 21 years. He retired from Hallmark Cards in 1996 and spent a few years as Of Counsel at Blackwell Sanders.
He was an avid sports fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs where he was a season ticket holder for 36 years. He enjoyed playing tennis, playing and coaching softball, and in earlier years, he enjoyed horseback riding and vacationing with his family. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed.
He married Lois Marie Bultmann on June 24, 1977 in Kansas City, MO. In addition to Lois, survivors include two sons: Bryan Cole Trowbridge (Helen) of San Francisco, CA and David Anderson "Bart" Trowbridge (Lisa) of Kaneohe, HI, and a beloved granddaughter, Andi Trowbridge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen D. Trowbridge.
A private Memorial service will be held at a later date. David attended the Sanborn Western Camps: Big Spring Ranch for Boys during his high school years therefore the family suggests contributions be made to https://www.coec.info/ Condolences may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com Arr: entrusted with Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO.
