Delbert Arends Obituary

Delbert "Dutch" Arends, 78, Independence, MO, passed away December 31, 2005, at Research Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2006, at The Advantage Chapel. Burial: Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, at the chapel. Mr. Arends was born May 25, 1927, in Sleeper, MO. He was a veteran of both the United States Army and the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He worked for and retired from the Butler MFG; after 38 years of service. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union and also a member of the American Legion Post #340 of Sugar Creek, MO. He was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Arends. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie A. Arends; his son, Danny L. Arends; two daughters, Diana L. Arends and Denise Kaestner; two brothers, Clifford and Richard Arends; two sisters, Virginia Whitaker and Betty Case; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other family members.
