November 16, 1932 - October 3, 2025
Kansas City, Missouri - Don Hinkle 92 of Kansas City, Missouri formerly of Lathrop Missouri died Friday October 3, 2025, at St. Luke's North Hospital. Born on November 16, 1932, in Kansas City Missouri to Amos and Edna E. (Smith) Hinkle. Don was a1950 graduate of North Kansas City High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Don retired from Midwest Typewriter after 40-plus years of service. On January 29, 1955, he married Phyllis Reed they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Don was preceded in death by his parents and son Mark W. Hinkle and 3 brothers Stan, Bob and Billy and 1 sister Dorothy Elam.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home; daughter in law Alison, 3 grandsons Jeremiah Hinkle of Kansas City MO., Jesse Hinkle of Lathrop Missouri and Joshua Hinkle of St Joseph Missouri, his granddaughter Rebekah Witvoet of Mackinaw Illinois. 6 great grandchildren Logan, Jeremiah II, Jaxton, Violet, Edelene and Atticus and nephews and nieces, Gary Elam, Bob and Sue Elam, Doris Lee Retzlaff, Dianna and Steve Moonyham, Kent and Beth Reed, Laura and Dennis Shaefer, Stacie and Kerry Eikenbary, Phyllis Snider, Jamie and Angie Reed.
The family will gather with friends on Wednesday October 8, 2025, from 6-8pm at the Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service Plattsburg Missouri. Mr. Hinkle will be cremated following the visitation.
