DONALD BROWN On April 19, 1959, God sent Donald "Ollie" Brown to Earth to make everyone in his path feel happy & loved. He passed July 10, 2017. Don was the son of Donald & the late Suzanne Brown, brother of Joan & Chuck Hobaica, Donna & Steve Babula. Donald leaves his children Christina, Taylor, Travis, & Chloe as well as Kylie & Robert, along with nieces, nephews, cousins. In July 2009, Donald married Karrie Newman, becoming a stepfather to Casey & Dominca, Neal, & Merrideth. Ollie will be in the memory of the entire Newman clan. He will forever be remembered by "Da Mills Men," colleagues of Honeywell, his softball family that reaches through many states, & remarkable friends, too numerous to mention. Heartfelt thank you to the KU Oncology Center/Dr. Gregory Crane for the care/compassion shown through Don's life challenge with cancer. Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel, Leawood, KS on Saturday, 9:30-11 a.m. with prayer service at 11 a.m. Donald will be returning home to New York with a service to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to KCMSSL Softball or Angelman Foundation.

What a gentleman and kind man. I pitched softball against this guy for many seasons in KCSSB and he would smile as he got ready to send the ball over the fence with the smoothest, steady swing I ever saw.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. Don was my neighbor and he and Jodi were 2 of the kindest people I have ever met. My heart felt condolences to the entire Brown and Newman family and to Jodi Whittaker.

We played basketball and softball together for many years but always on opposing teams. Don was a very tough competitor but always a gentleman. It's an honor to have known him.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Don Brown was a great man. He was the one hired me and brought me down to Kansas from Minnesota. I really enjoyed to stop by his office and talked to him just about anything throughout the years.He always had a great smile on him.
