Doris Johnson Obituary

Doris M. Johnson's earthly journey ended April 24, 2004, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29 at Greater St. Matthew's Baptist Church. Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. She was born on February 3, 1942, in Readland, AR. She was the seventh of ten children born to the union of Dollie Aikens Allen Lewis and Hind Bloomfield. Both parents, her husband Lavan Johnson, two children, and four siblings preceded her in death. Doris moved to Kansas City in 1961. She united with Cain Grant Baptist Church, and later united with Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church, where she served in several organizations. In 1963, she married Cutie M. Marks, Sr. Seven children were born to this union. Doris attended G.C. John high school in Eudora, AR. She was employed for several years at Scotch Deluxe Cleaners and various other employers in the KC area. She leaves to cherish her memories four devoted daughters, Annette Bloomfield, Rosie Lee Marks, Latonia M. Hazelton (Billy), and Beatrice Marks (Cleon), all of Kansas City, MO; two devoted sons, Raymond L. Marks and Adrian M. Marks, both of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Reola Allen, Kansas City, MO, and Melvie White, Eudora, AR; three brothers, Henry C. Allen, Willie Barnes, both of Kansas City, MO, and Warren Allen, Eudora, AR; 18 grandchildren; and a host of special nieces, nephews, family, and friends. (Arr. Lawrence A.
