Dorothy Stimach Obituary

Dorothy "Jean" Stimach
October 30, 2022
Kansas City, Kansas - Dorothy "Jean" Stimach was born to Glen and Bertha (Linnaberry) Harrison on May 5, 1932 in Kansas City, Ks. She graduated from Wyandotte High School, went to dental school and became a dental assistant for a local dentist. Dorothy married Al Stimach and had 5 children; Jean, Cheryl, Al Jr., John and Lizz. She loved her church, St. Patrick in KCK, and participated in, volunteered and served on many committees.
Dorothy loved family. Being a Cinco De Mayo baby, she was always willing to host a fiesta. Dorothy loved "owls" of any kind. In her earlier years she loved to bowl. She loved games, dominos, cards, word search, puzzles and especially BINGO! Dorothy was an avid KC Chiefs fan until the day she passed away. She said 'MAHOMES is gonna be a Lenny "The Kool" Jr." and she would know because she and the love of her life attended the 1969 Super Bowl in New Orleans driving in a yellow Cadillac with two other couples. She loved "her" chiefs.
Dorothy lived and loved life. She loved her friends who knew her as "Jean" her family who called her "Aunt Dorothy", her CB Club as "Silver fox" and to her kids, she was just "Mom" "Grandma" and "Great Grandma Sitmach". She was preceded in death by the love of her life "Big Al" and her daughter Cheryl. She is survived by;
Jean Dobbie (Jeremy, Jeff, Joseph, Angela, and Ashley); Al Jr. and Julie Stimach (Allison, John and Mark); John and Linda Stimach (Hayden, Neil and Reid); Lizz and Mike Stoker (Beau, Mitch, and Lilly) and her 20 Great Grandkids, whom she loved and spoiled them as much as THEIR parents. She will be so very missed.
Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94, KCK on Thursday, Nov. 10, with Visitation from 9-10AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Burial following at Mt. Calvary, KCK.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the Piper Assisted living in KCK for their constant abundance of love and care they provided to our mother on "a daily basis". Donations may be made in Dorothy "Jean" Stimach's name to the Piper Assisted Living 2300 N. 113 Ter, KCK 66109 or St. Patrick Catholic Church.

My mother, Mary Clevenger Glaven, and "Jean" were girlfriends all of their lives. Theirs was a relationship that was the kind that "picked right back up where they left off" no matter how much time passed between the times they were together. Mom loved Dorothy and Al and spent many wonderful days with them after my dads passing. Dorothy was such a special person and faithful friend. She was a wonderful support to me when mom passed in 2016. I know how hard it is to give your mom to heaven. I also know how much fun she is having at her homecoming celebration. I am sure she and mom are catching up right now as though they had never been apart. Well done dear friend and oh so good and faithful servant. Prayers for you all as you are walking this path.
