Ernest D. "Bud" Andre Ernest D."Bud" Andre, 88 of Shawnee, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 am Friday, November 30 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5501 Monticello Rd., Shawnee, KS 66226. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30. Bud will be laid to rest next to his wife Mary Lou in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Atchison. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 6701 W. 64th St., Building 5, Suite 110, Overland Park, KS, 66202 or the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS, 66212 . Bud was born May 13, 1930 to the late John and Leona Andre in Atchison, KS. After high school, Bud enlisted in the Army and served as a Mechanic. On October 25, 1957 Bud married the love of his life, Mary Lou Kane. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2013. Bud worked as a Pipe Assembler for Fairbanks Morse for 36 years before retiring in 1992. Bud didn't slowdown after retiring, he continued to work for Brotherhood Bank for another 15 years before settling down. He finally retired for the second time in 2006. Bud is also preceded in death by his son, John Andre, a daughter, LeAnne Andre; a brother, Harold Andre and sister, Bonnie Nitz. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Smith and husband David; five grandchildren, Cassidy Doran; Jenna Doran; Janelle Andre; Charlie Smith and Sarah Smith. A great grandson, Isaiah Arias, also survives him. Online.
