In life you will be very lucky if you can list five people (parents excepted) that you can say influenced the direction of your life; Mr. Angle is on my list.

I think it was Mr. Angle's 55th birthday and he jokingly said I called him "an old retread" - I did not say that. But now at the age of 58, I can see why he might have felt that way!

His influence continues and I think of him often.

I am his nephew. His brother raised me for many years a a child in Indiana. Uncle Fred will be sorely missed, and prayed for. He was always encouraging to my endeavors. I haven't seen him in person for many years. I always respected his judgement as a businessman and his experience as a Marine. God Bless Lillian and the rest of the family. I regretfully am not able to attend the services, but I extend my true condolences. Sincerely, Kelly Pittier

Lillian and Family -
It is indeed a sad day to hear about Fred. My sympathies and condolences go out to each of you. When I think about "Mr. Angle" I think of my recently departed father, Jim Mason, who worked for him many years. There could be no person Daddy respected and admired more than Fred. Not only was he an astute business man, he was a treasured friend. May happy memories of this wonderful man, his always smiling face,
kind generous heart and "Joie de vie" sustain you in the days ahead.

My Condolences to you, Lillian, and Family!!

Working with Fred were some of the best memories of my life. He was the only employer I ever worked with that when he asked your opinion, he truly wanted your opinion, not what you thought he wanted to hear. "Thanks for the Memories"

Fred was a patient and friend of mine. We shared the USMC stories with each other: he in WW II and me in VietNam. He was the most honorable and kindest man I had ever met. Dr. F. Anthony Thomas. He will be missed. Condolences to his fine family.

Fred was one of the most interesting and well read men I ever knew. He gave me a book once called Mr. Anonymous. It was a biography of William Volker, the Revered Kansas City Philanthropist who contributed over a third of his wealth back to his community. Research Hospital(the old German Hospital)and UMKC being a couple of those projects. Volker was dubbed Mr. Anonymous of Bell Street because he preferred anonymity in his contributions. I believe that book had such an impact on Fred that he styled his life in the same manner. Which is probably why he wanted me to read it. It had the same impact on me. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. I'll never forget that warm, contagious smile with that endless twinkle in his eye. His unique style of casual dress with the Cowboy Hat and boots, upturned collar, and gold jewelry. He was quite the character and made a big impression on my life. Thank you Uncle Fred. See you on the other side.

I am one of the lucky ones to call him Uncle Fred. So many memories that will never fade away - Uncle Fred always offering words of advice about life, telling stories of his travels and his business dealings, and always, always with a big smile on his face and laughing with tears in his eyes. He will always be an incredible man to our family and a hero to me personally. He told me once sometimes you just get lucky in life ... I did with Uncle Fred.

Fred was one of the most important men in my life. He taught me about the value of work and commitment to one's ideals. He was best friend to my father. I will always remember his squint, his smile, and his laugh. Fred, I'll smash a pack of Camel filterless to you.
