Gary Provence Obituary

Gary Douglas Provence, "Doug," age 49, of Oskaloosa, KS, formerly of the Kansas City area, passed away March 10, 2004, at the KU Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Interment will be in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made c/o McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS 66204. Doug was born January 16, 1955, in Kansas City and attended schools in the Shawnee Mission School District. He was preceded in death by his father, Elven Roe Provence, Sr., and mother, Ellen (Hudson) Provence; two brothers, Elven Provence, Jr., and Harold Provence. Survivors include his sons, Jacob Douglas Provence of Fort Bragg, NC, and Nathan Michael Provence of Gardner, KS; four sisters, Carolyn Walling and husband, Sam, of Raymore, MO, Kay Boyle of Belton, MO, Glenda Humphrey and husband, John, of Oak Grove, MO, and Kathy Vechnak and husband, Willie, of Raymore, MO; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
