Kansas City, Missouri - Gerald William Van Keppel, Jr. (Bill) passed away peacefully at his home in Kansas City on October 27, 2022. Born on August 10, 1935 in Kansas City, he was a graduate of Pembroke Country Day School and Rockhurst College.
He worked for most of his career in the family construction equipment business founded by his father and had many passions, especially art, race cars and travel, all of which contributed to a life well-lived.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, G.W. (Van) and Elizabeth Van Keppel and his siblings Elizabeth Walker, Helen Anderson and John Van Keppel. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Dierk Van Keppel and wife Lorie, Kurt Van Keppel, Mary Arendes and husband Clay, Jenneken Van Keppel and husband, David Gipprich, and seven grandchildren: Audrey Van Keppel, Willem Van Keppel, Anne Arendes, Henry Arendes, Margaret Arendes, Grace Gipprich and Chloe Gipprich.
