Harold Wayne Caruthers

Harold Wayne Caruthers, age 64, of Wellsville, KS, passed away Friday, March 12, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville, KS. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, also at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092. Harold Wayne Caruthers was born January 22, 1940 in Wellsville, KS, the son of Russell and Hanna Marie (Hess) Caruthers. He grew up in Wellsville and attended the Wellsville Schools. On December 1, 1957, he married Wanda Karen O'Connor in Wellsville. They were married 46 years before his passing. She survives at the home. In his younger years, Harold ran drilling rigs around the Wellsville area. He later began working for BPU in Kansas City as an electrical lineman. He retired as a design engineer for BPU after working there for 21 years. Harold was a member of the Local Union IBEW #53 and he loved to fish. He will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew and loved him. Harold is survived by his wife of the home; his mother, Marie Caruthers of Wellsville; a daughter, Lynne Edie of Palmdale, CA; daughter Loriee Kraft of Ottawa; sons, Russ and Rod Caruthers, both of Wellsville; son Ray Caruthers of Quenemo; brothers, Don and Marvin Caruthers, both of Wellsville, a brother, Melvin Caruthers of Buckner, MO; a sister, Barbara Barnhill of Wellsville; 9 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
