Three years later here we are. There's days that go by with a joy of knowing you are with our Lord and Savior, but there are also the days I wish I could just pick up the phone and call you and talk about the day, the evening, updates about the kiddos, but I can't. So each of us keep going strong because we know you are with joy in the best life possible, the eternal life. Miss you Daddy. ~Nikki

Today, 1 year ago... I lost my Dad. My heart misses my Daddy so much. I am blessed to have had the best father a daughter could have. He gave my brother, his grandchildren and I so many memories that we will never forget. My father was the hardest working, loyal, compassionate, strong and intelligent man I know. He was my best critic but I am thankful for his persistence. That was his stern way of loving and caring. My life changed the day I lost him. I know he's one proud Papa. In Heaven with our Lord and Savior, free from pain, stress and all the earthly things that trouble us. He is at peace. Forever, your little girl... I love you Daddy!

My wife and I have been on vacation; when we returned, I learned about Jim's passing. I had the good fortune of meeting and working with Jim at Valentine-Radford Advertising in the late 1970s. Since then, I relied on Jim -- regularly -- to write articles for my clients. He was truly a master publicist and a great friend. I will miss him.

One of my very best friends. They say you are lucky if you have a friend that you would be willing to jump in front of and stop a bullet heading for him. Jim is one of the people in my life that I would have done this for.

Jim has been a part of my life since middle school days as he was the best friend to my sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Kurt Buer. He never treated me as the pesky little sister to Nancy. I met Susan 2 years ago when they came to a bbq/bonfire we were having when Nancy and Kurt were here visiting. We're all so very grateful to have had him and Susan with us. He's been a part of my life for over 50 years and we will miss him.

Jim and I met in an exotic place called the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communication. We were both taking an introductory class in reporting. Our assignment on that fateful day was to interview the person sitting next to us and write a brief bio of that person's life up to that point. I was sitting next to Jim. After we had completed our task, Jim suggested we grab a few cold ones at a place called the Gaslight. That was the beginning of a life-long friendship. While Jim stayed close to his roots, I followed a more nomadic course. But, no matter where I landed, Jim always found me. He cared about his friends. God bless you Jimmy. Rock chalk!
