James L. "Jim" Selby

James L. "Jim" Selby, 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away November 6, 2009. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 9th, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church Building Fund, New Horizons Church of the Nazarene, 17200 Chestnut Drive, Belton, MO 64012. Mr. Selby was born June 4, 1924, in Antlers, OK, son of William Andrew and Lillian Pink (Head) Selby. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy. He started working in the aircraft industry just after the war, and founded his own business in 1956, Top Quality Tool and Machine Company, Inc., retiring in 1990. Mr. Selby was a member and greeter at the New Horizons Church of the Nazarene. As a hobby, he loved to work with wood, and was a craftsman and artist. He was preceded in death by his wives, Granville, Myrtle, Juanita and Melba; his brother Eugene Selby and sister Marie Selby. He is survived by his children Jimmy Selby, Sue Perkins, Tom Wagner, Jack Selby, Jan Bowman, John Selby, Paul Nelson, Patricia Dragert and Barbara Durtschi, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
