Overland Park, Kansas - James P. Way of Overland Park, Kansas,went home to be with his Lord on Thursday,May 23rd, 2024. He had a hard fought battle with lymphoma and handled it as he did everything else, with grit and grace.

Jim is survived by his best friend and wife of 52 years, Karen, by his son, Todd, daughter-in-law, Sonja, his granddaughter, Ellis, and daughter, Melinda. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Brace and Clara, and brother, Carl. Jim was raised in Hannibal, Missouri.He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Business Administration.He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until being honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.After leaving the military, Jim accepted a position in the Human Resources department of Marley Cooling Towers.He worked at Marley for over 33 years rising to the position of Director of Human Resources. Jim's loyalty and faithfulness to his family and friends were hallmarks of his life.His children knew him to be a loving and sacrificial leader, always willing to support them in their goals, always ready to counsel, encourage or comfort.

I've thought about Jim a lot, and the word "kind" sticks in my head. His work relationships were not business but they were personal. If he had good news for you, he enjoyed it with you. If he had bad news, he hurt with you. A special Marley person in a tough job. I'm glad we were teammates. Dick Landon

What a beautiful tribute to Jim Way. He was one of our favorite human beings. Such a fun and generous man. Traveling with Jim and Karen was pure joy. Jim was always up for any adventure. We will miss our dear friend and neighbor.
