November 18, 1937 - December 20, 2022
Overland Park , Kansas - Jane Ann Brockman Broski, 85, of Overland Park, KS passed away on December 20. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred Broski; daughter Julie Broski, son-in-law Tom Laing; son Brian Broski, daughter-in-law Staci Broski; grandchildren Brinnin, Brady, Iris, Melody and Daphne. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Furn and Gladys Brockman; siblings Tommy, Patty, Bobby and Furn Brockman Jr. She is survived by siblings Ted Brockman, Virginia Jensen, Marilyn Weld, Barney Brockman and Carolyn Smith. Jane (The General) was always the matriarch keeping things in order with good words and charming conversation. Being stricken with polio as a teenager never hampered her verve and personality. Even though she was wheelchair bound, she never complained about her disabilities. She kept her love of life and provided love, inspiration and kindness to everyone in her circle. The family thanks St Luke's Hospital and especially Dr. Kristen Jones. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity. A Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., KCMO on Thursday December 29, 2022, at 10 AM followed by visiting and lunch at More Hall at 11 AM.

Thinking of Fred and Jane's family this holiday season, and realize it will be difficult for all of you. It has always helped me thinking of how joyous it was for my dear ones to be in heaven at the holidays and hear the marvelous choirs and bells celebrating the birth of Christ. Jane was an angel on earth for all, and to be well and enjoying the celebration is comforting to me and I hope it can be for you too. Warm thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bill and I send our condolences on the loss of your mother and mother-in-law. She sounds like a lovely woman. Though we were members of St. Thomas More for 9 years, I don't think we had the pleasure of meeting her. I know you have many wonderful memories to carry you through.

As a lifelong friend and classmate of Jane's sister, Marilyn, I've had the pleasure of knowing Jane & Fred the biggest part of a lifetime. Jane has always been a beacon of charm and kindness with boundless optimism for life and love of family. Sincere sympathy is extended to Fred's family and Jane's very large extended family at this sad time. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
