Dr. Baird was able friend of my father´s and a vice principal at my high school. I´ll always remember her for letting me know that I was capable Of performing better than I did. 24 years later I still remember our interaction and have grown much since. RIP Dr. Baird.

She was one of my assistant principals at KCMSA. She was one of, if not the first educator to notice me for my abilities both polished and unpolished. She guided me to be and do better. She gifted me with several books which I still own to this day. I always had wanted to tell her how much her influence has followed me into adulthood. Truly sorry for your families' and the world's loss.

Dear Judy — I am so sorry to learn of Janet’s passing! I have vivid memories of you both on Friday mornings at Village Pres ready to dive into provocative texts with spirit! Janet’s thoughtful insights always brought us to lingering conversation, from which the group always benefitted. Know that our hearts and prayers are bound with yours. May you be comforted knowing that she led a full life and contributed immensely to all of ours and may her memory always be called for a blessing.

Janet was a kind and generous friend that I met at the Waldo Great Decisions discussion group, sponsored by the IRC. She and her good friend Marilyn Larkin welcomed this transplanted New Yorker by sharing the many highlights of Kansas City. Each week Janet ferried me to a new part of town. She was particularly taken with Prairie Village. As a retiree it can be tough to start over. Janet knew that and welcomed me into her life and family. I will miss my good friend.
