Jeneva Myers

1931 - 2025

Jeneva Myers, 93, of Kansas City,MO., passed away on November 12, 2025, at a memory care facility in New Orleans, near her son and his family.

She was born on December 13, 1931, in Enid, Oklahoma as one of 13 children to farmers, the late Blaine and Pearl Miller.

Jeneva grew up in Denard, Arkansas educated in a one-room school. Her parents and family were active members of the local country Baptist church. She met her husband, Donald L Myers, in the state of Washington at 16 years old while picking Apples with her siblings as a seasonal farming worker. At 17 they married and for 49 years were together until Don passed from cancer. She continued to refer to herself as Mrs. Donald Myers until her passing.

Together at a young age Jeneva and her husband were staunch believers in hard work, and they instilled that same ethic in their children. Both driven to rise from their humble backgrounds from the start. Donald joined the Airforce, became a pilot and served in the Korean War. While based in France, Jeneva started a sandwich cart for extra money from sales to base soldiers. She was known as a great cook and even a better baker.

A dedicated homemaker, Jeneva supported her husband in his many business ventures. After becoming empty nesters, she worked for Sears at Antioch Shopping Center for many years. Once on her own, she lived in City View apartments in NKC where she loved greeting new tenants with her baked goods.

She is survived by children, Sherrie Myers (Chicago), Kirk Myers (New Orleans), a loving daughter-in-law, Lisa Harrington; grandchildren, Andrew Myers Dickson, Harry and Abby Myers.
