John E. Beech, 67, of Shawnee, Kan., passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. There will be a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Grace Church, 159th and Antioch, Olathe, Kan. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Harvesters or Grace Church. John's remains will be interred in a private family service at a later date. John graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis, Mo., and the University of Missouri at Rolla. He retired from General Motors in Fairfax as the company's first ergonomist after 39 years of service. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Shirley, brother, Dennis Beech of Murrieta, Calif., daughter, Daneen and husband Tucker Kelsey, son, Chad Beech from Atlanta and two granddaughters, Madison Claire Kelsey and Coralaine Hope Kelsey, and numerous other family members. Our sorority socials and all of our other fun activities together will never be the same without John! And nobody ever appreciated my brownies more than John Beech! We feel honored and blessed that he came into our lives. We will all miss him!
