Kansas City, Missouri - John Owen Beetner, 88, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away November 4, 2022.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12 at Woodson Avenue Bible Church, 6701 Woodson St., Overland Park, KS 66204-1542. Committal in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
John was born on the family farm, rural Gilman, Iowa on August 16, 1934 to Glen and Gladys (Harem) Beetner. He graduated from Ferguson Iowa High School in 1953. In 1954 he was involved in a motorcycle accident and suffered a head injury. John later attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City where he met his future wife.
John was united in marriage to Betty Irene Bagley on July 30, 1965 at Central Bible Church in Kansas City. John briefly worked in maintenance at Calvary Bible College and then for 32 years as a maintenance engineer at Linda Hall Library.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents and one brother, Ernest, of Altoona, Iowa. He is survived by his brothers Emmet (Lynne) of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Gary (Rachel) of Aplington, Iowa; sister-in-law Ann Beetner of Altoona, Iowa; brothers-in-law James (Karen) Bagley of Whitmore Lake, Michigan and John Bagley (Earlene) of Anderson, South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodson Avenue Bible Church.
