John Cascone Obituary

John Richard Cascone, 53, a lifelong Kansas City, MO, resident, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at North Kansas City Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 N.E. 42nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116; burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City North. Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Friday at Passantino Bros. Chapel, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m., and SRA services will begin at 7 p.m. lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in John Richard's memory to the Larry Cascone Memorial Fund, c/o Lawson Bank, 4200 N. Oak Tfwy., Kansas City, MO 64116. John Richard was born June 1, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, and was a member of the Cascone Restaurant Family. He was employed at Vocational Services Workshop in North Kansas City for 34 years. John was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and was a member of Societa Ragusa Americana. He was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan. John Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie (Fontanello) Cascone, and his brother, Larry Cascone. Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, George Cascone, Frank and VitaAnn Cascone, Jeanne Cascone, Jimmy and Sara Cascone; sister, Lucille Hotchkiss; nephews and nieces, Johnny and Lisa Cascone, Victor and Marianne Cascone, Jenny Ann and Joe Arena, Georgia Ann and John Sirna, Jenny Marie and David Mosh, Johnny George Cascone, Tommy Cascone, Elaina Cascone, Savina Cascone; great-nephews and great-nieces, Frankie, Joey, Tony, Joanna, Jack, Carly and Jenniann; aunt and uncle, Marie and John Messina; and many cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be John Richard's nephews. John Richard will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. (Arrangements: Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 816-471-2844)

John was a great man. I knew him for a couple years. He always made my day when I would come into the restaurant with my uncle Phil and aunt Jana Carey. He would just be so nice and kind. He would always ask how my day was and things like that.I will miss him so much. He was a great person and touched my life in so many ways..

I grew close to John this past year and I will remember ALWAYS the last words that John told me before he went home ill. He told me that he WILL be back because he has to sing me a song!!
