John Kieff Obituary

John H. Kieff, 93, of Blue Springs, MO, joined his wife of 58 years, Elisabeth Josephine Reinkemeyer, in heavenly peace on September 12, 2004. Mr. Kieff was born in Linn, MO, on June 19, 1911, to James Keiff and Sarah (Ferguson) Keiff. John retired from General Motors Leeds Assembly Plant in 1972, after 43 years of service. He was a founding member of UAW Local #93. He was also one of the original members of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church in Independence and helped build the church. John and Elisabeth loved to travel and enjoyed many years of retirement together. He moved from East 36th Terrace in Kansas City, where he lived for 63 years to Blue Springs in 2001, where he lived with his son and was cared for by his entire family. John attended Vesper Hall Senior Citizens in Blue Springs, where he enjoyed fellowship and card playing with his many friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Flossie Eaton, Alma Henze and Mary Reinkemeyer. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Bennefeld (Lanny); two sons, Kenneth Kieff (Rita) and Darrell Kieff (Mary); nine grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who will miss his companionship and wit. John loved his family and greatly enjoyed all the family gatherings. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sheil Colonial Chapel, with Rosary said at 7 p.m.; entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. (Arrangements: Sheil Colonial Funeral Home, 816-353-6555)

My deepest sympathy to my very best friends, Rita and Kenny, and all the family. I loved Mr. John Kieff with all my heart. He was always so sweet and kind. What a huge loss for the entire family. He stayed active for a good, long time, what a blessing that was. I just know your Mom was thrilled to see him, as he was thrilled to see her, and all the relatives and friends in heaven. God bless you Mr. John Kieff and all the family.
