Overland Park, Kansas - Jose Maria Fernandez, Spanish Chef "Don Pepe" of Overland Park, KS, peacefully passed away on June 9, 2021, in his sleep at Kansas City Hospice House, while he was accompanied by his wife and daughter. He was born in Lugo, Galicia, Spain on January 16, 1947. May he rest in peace as he joins his son, Jose A. Fernandez in Heaven.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM -10:00 AM, Rosary at 10:00 AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 25th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st St., Overland Park, KS 66204. Inurnment will immediately follow Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 8321 Quivira Rd., Lenexa, KS 66215. Full obituary and condolences at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.

Don Pepe was one of my best friends and I will dearly miss him. prayers for all his family and rest in peace my dear friend. He was the best chef in Kansas City and I have enjoyed his food and all the parties I attended at his house and followed him in every restaurant that he operated.
