Jan. 7, 1953 - Jan. 3, 2015 Judy A. Piper, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends. Daughter of Shirley Murphy-Kinney and step daughter of Tom Kinney. Loving mother to Renee Lynn Workman and Roxanne Kathleen Workman- Lawson. Grandmother to Stevie N. Meier and Amanda R. Workman and Dakota M. Workman. Great Grandmother of Gage A. Workman and aunt to seven nieces and nephews and great aunt to 21 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Randy Calvert of the home, brother, Larry W. Piper and sisters, Penny Piper Rothrock, Nancy Piper Whitehead, Mary Satterwhite. She is preceded in death by younger brother, J.L. Piper. Judy was a dialysis nurse at DaVita and a R.N. at Lansing Prison. Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at KC Funeral Directors 4880 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kan.

OMG! Renee, Roxanne and family my heart goes out to you all! I just learned of Judy's passing. My prayers to you and your entire family. Judy was a remarkable and very special woman and was a joy to so many of us. I have memories of the two of us just "cracking up" laughing so hard we'd be wiping tears from our eyes...those were the special moments with Judy that I will always treasure! Judy was strong and brave...she lived her life fearlessly...always able to climb life's rugged mountains & terrains. What a trooper and inspiration! I had the wonderful opportunity to know & work with Judy at DaVita when she hired me in 2006. I will cherish my memories of Judy and the way she touched my life. Judy took me under her wing when I moved to K.C. and began working with her at Davita. She introduced me to her daughter, Renee who I also worked with. Thank You, Judy for giving me one of my dearest friends, Renee, and being a good friend as well. Fun times!

Judy was a very good friend and a special lady. I was lucky enough to get a chance to work with her and we shared many laughs together. She will truly be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to her family who she loved very much.

Remembering the fun I had with Judy when I would come with Mom (Doris) to visit Aunt Shirley years ago-Judy took me to her favorite bar to drink beer & shoot pool. I am so sorry for your loss.
