Prairie Village, Kansas - Kathleen Swann passed away September 7, 2021. Kathy loved nursing and caring for new moms, new babies, and children. She wanted to be a good mother, a good wife, and a good nurse. She was all of that and more.
Kathy was born December 10, 1945 in Marshalltown, IA to Marilyn (Stoaks) and Robert Slickman, both preceded her in death as well as her step-mother, Ruth (Minnis) Slickman.
Kathy graduated from St. Teresa's High School, studied nursing at Avila College and later graduated from Trinity Lutheran Hospital's nursing program.
After nursing school Kathy worked as an OB/GYN nurse for Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital and later worked as a pediatric nurse for Pediatric Associates until her retirement.
She enjoyed collecting and reading.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Swann; her children: Kristen and Nathan Swann; her grandchildren: Ethan and Raelin Swann; her siblings: Pat (Slickman) Carl, Andrew Slickman, Daniel Slickman, Laura (Slickman) Connealy, and Diana Slickman.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at the McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., KCMO. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at McGilley State Line Chapel.
