She attended North Kansas City High School and graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1974. She received her BS in Psychology from UMKC and her MA in Liberal Arts from Baker University. Drastic changes in Kathy's life brought by her long medical journey were accompanied by an opportunity to grow and guide those around her to a much deeper understanding of relationships, of the strength and love that can be discovered within Community. Kathy and I met at Baker University in Overland Park and we hit it off immediately. She was always so bright and introspective, fully aware of the world around her and what she could contribute. She was so easy to love.

I first met Kathy at the Kansas City Star many years ago and remember thinking what a lovely and nice young woman she was. Graceful, giving and caring. And indeed, a Warrior Princess.
She will always be in my heart. My condolences to all her family and friends.

Kathy was the very first friend I met when we moved to KC and what a friend she was. Her parents taught mine how to camp out and I still do even now. I have so many fantastic memories from our families friendship and I'll always remember her and her bright smile. Heaven has another angel.
