Lawrence McCoy Obituary

Larry McCoy, 73, Belton, Mo., passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Larry was an avid sports fan. During his early years he enjoyed golfing and once hit a hole-in-one at Excelsior Springs. He loved fishing and devoted his early retirement years to catching the "Big One". He was a loyal fan of the Chiefs, Royals and his favorite, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Wilma, sister JoAnne Thomas and a brother-in-law, Bob Gilroy. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Molly; three sons and daughtersin-law, Steve (Lisa), Dennis (Paridy) and Jerry (Toni), all of Lee's Summit; four grandaughters, Cheslea, Jerri, KC and Billie; one grandson, Chandler; two brothers, Don (Judy) McCoy and Bob (Pat) McCoy; sister Helen Gilroy; brother-in-law Al Thomas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family gathering is planned. Arrangements by: Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri, (816) 822-9888.

I remember catching a 5lb. Carp at Lake Jacomo when I was about 5 yrs. old & my dad flying home over the hills on Bannister rd., in the orange rebel station wagon, so we could get it into the Gummingers' metal tank pool before it died. I love & miss you dad.
