MARIE M. BUDENBENDER

Marie M. Budenbender, 72, Shawnee, Kan., went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2010. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with a rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. A Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, Kan. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Blaine, Kan. Marie was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Broken Bow, Neb., to Charles and Mabel (Booth) Land. She was united in marriage Dec. 28, 1956, to Bernard A. Budenbender and they made their home in Lenexa. Marie was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was active along with her family in Scouting and served as a Den Mother for Scout troop #3181. She loved to embroider and quilt blankets for her family and friends, enjoyed crafting and playing Bingo. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 1979, and her brothers, Bud and George Land. She is survived by her children, Joseph Budenbender (Grace), Michael Budenbender (Deborah), Paul Budenbender (Pam), Ruby Lane (Glenn), Patrick Budenbender (Johnica), and Debbie Blattman (Doug). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and her sisters, Ruth Applegarth and Barb Campbell, and brother, Johnny Land.
