Marvin Schumann Obituary

Marvin L. Schumann, 81, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday, January 3, 2005, at Mt. Washington Forever Mausoleum Chapel, Independence, MO. Burial to follow in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Marvin will be 11 a.m.-12 noon Monday at the mausoleum. Marvin was born May 7, 1923, in Morville, IA, to William and Clara (Eichorn) Schumann. He served his country proudly during WWII and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by Missouri Portland Cement Company and retired from there after 22 years of continuous service. Marvin was preceded into heaven by one brother and his wife, Lola P. Schumann in 1998. Survivors include one son, Donald Schumann of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Betty Schmitt of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Merle Schumann of Ida Grove, IA, and Ronald Schumann of Kingsley, IA; four sisters, Della Sterrett of Houston, TX, Gladys Baker of Sheffield, IA, Violetta Betts of Brockgrove, IA, and Irma Jean Redenius of Ida Grove, IA; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
